Te Arataki Manu Koorero o Tainui:

Collaborating with Tainui Kaumaatua in Cultural Recovery     

Within the Tainui tribal confederation the number of knowledgeable  kaumaatua (elders) has been diminishing. Others among them admit to gaps in 'knowing'.

  In 2003, Te Waananga o Aotearoa instigated its programme Te Arataki Manu Koorero o Tainui.

    The programme seeks to address the need to stem the loss of cultural knowledge critical to Tainui identity and sense of peoplehood.
