Niho Taniwha
“Niho Taniwha” 
The Niho Taniwha are a contemporary symbolism of the Whakatauki, 
“He Piko, He Taniwha” , 
“for every bend of the river resides a Chief”
This reference holds great significance to Leadership of our past, our present and our future. 
The colours of the Niho honours  the Whakatauki,  
“ Kotahi te kōwhao o te ngira e kuhuna ai te miro mā, te miro pango, te miro whero.Ā muri, kia mau ki te whakapono, kia mau ki te ture, kia mau ki te aroha.”  nā Pōtatau Te Wherowhero  
There is but one eye of the needle through which must pass the white thread, the black thread and the red thread.Hold fast to faith,  hold fast to the law,  hold fast to the love. .   
    
The Niho design  embraces  that maxim,
