Matters Arising: 10 Treasurers Report - $525. 31 as is Accepted Karen Herbert / James George 11 Correspondence In: a) FNDC Land Use Application to extent existing Paihia Beach Resort Facilities. b) Enterprise Northland – Coastal permits to remove collapsed oyster racks & accumulated oyster shells. Contact has been made with Joe George & Willow Prime, distribution of application has gone to various people to make decisions on our behalf. Support the project of the clean up and add rules and regulations for the future. NOTE: Peter Clark would it noted that he is against their clean up. c) Ecomonic Devptmts – looking to put out tenders for digging around. Invite them to talk here d) Nthld Regional Council – LR Hyland – Reclamation & associated consents on the northern side of Waikare Inlet, BOI. e) Ngati Pare would like support and tautoko of the extension of their wahitapu. Motion: We support the ahikaa of Waihaaha the application to extend the wahitapu (Moeraurau). Reports: a) Taiapure: Need to have a meeting; issues need to be cleared up, hapu fundraising, fishing licenses, oyster farms, renewal of leases. Draft up regulations to what the people want and send it to Parliament, Min of Fisheries. Got funding from the Govt, basically to recycle oyster shell. 3 year life span. Do a test run - sucktion / dredge or amphibious vehicle, piled and picked up by barge to take for washing. A letter of support to say they support the pilot run. Are procedures put in place to retain or contain fine sediments as this is being done? Can we have a Taiapure meeting with all relevant information so we can make more informed decisions and make recommendations to our next meeting. b) Te Kura O Waikare: New uniform now worn by our tamariki. 50 enrolled students. 3 different classes in use now. Webpage will be available for Te Kura o Waikare. Ataarangi Te Reo group being looked into. Hongi & Kara Edwards have moved into Elizabeth Snowdens home. Te Kura Wananga hui will be held in at Waikare & Te Rawhiti alternately. Opening in Omanaia on the 5th March. Milk in schools will be starting soon. Motukura information required. c) Recreation: Nil d) Hauora: Fortnightly on a Wednesday, Mirimiri is available. e) Te Runanga O Taumarere: Held at the school. Next one in Russell f) Maori Lands (1) Te Turuki – Applications returned. Complete and return by next meeting please. We will resubmit. (2) Kopuakawau - Dean and Phillipa will be kept informed as they are shareholders in that area. (3) Waihaha and Ngaiotonga Blocks, ongoing (4) Waitangi Tribunal – our Wai No. is 1464, lands in our area need to be returned to the people. The claim has included the State Forest and Te Kapotai War, include land, sea and airspace over Te Kapotai including all natural resources, minerals and water ways. ANY INFORMATION, BE THEY MEMORIES, PHOTOS, WRITTEN MATERIAL or PERSONAL INTERVIEWS THAT CAN BE SHARED AND USED TO HELP WITH THE CLAIM is needed now. Tribunal dates are changing Stage 2 of the hearings about 4 to 5 months away from starting. Venue moved to be Copthorne Waitangi for the whole five weeks. Our application will be about 500 pages. Wananga will be for us over the next few months. Judicial conference on Monday at Waitangi Copthorne. Takutai Moana meeting on the 14th March. Applying for an administration hub to be developed at the Nu Flo Centre in Kawakawa. Other hubs around the different districts will be available. Te Kotahitanga meeting in Mangakahia 21st March. All welcome. A wananga held at Te Rawhiti 3rd March – boundaries and overlapps. (5)Motukura Island – Applications returned. Same as Te Turuki g) Nga Whenua Rahui: Create a procedure for the future to extract trees and dispose of to the benefit of our people. Include in our Hapu Development & Management plan. Kauri Dieback Management Scheme- Keep an eye out in our area for dying Kauri, excess leaf drop and anything else that looks unusual. A report will be given from those who went into the bush. Kauri Dieback meeting on the 4th August at Waitangi marae at 9am till 3pm and a kaumatua meeting after that till the next day. They are looking for kaumatua to stand on this meeting. They have not found what the disease is yet. Its not infected here yet. Hunters and dogs advised to wash after entering other bush outside the area before returning home. Can other blocks be added this package. Our area is the largest area of Kauri. It needs to be protected Possums still around h) NZ Police and Maori Wardens:Meetings will be held 4th April 13th June 15 August 17th October. They have a new boss in Russell and Whangarei i) Church: Still leaning, seeking funding from whanau. Please help us put our church right!!!!!!! Kara has a report from the architects and will prepare a submission for funds j) Road – Metal has been removed from the bridge area, both sides of the bridge, they can take up to 100 metres of metal without consultation. Have taken metal over Jack's bay hill, not on our road and others. Joe George will talk with Trevor. k) Civil Defence. No report 14. General: the 11 April to 13th April 2012 row. 2009, we did the waka up and it has been to a few major occasions, so we would like to come here. There are three waka that will be rowed from Opua to the marae. Can we also run a historical wananga hui for our people. Yes. You are welcome to come. Ka pai to mahi.
