KA WHAKAORA TE WHARE PUKAI
”PROJECT RESTORATION”
The whanau have made a HUGE decision and have embarked on an industries’ journey of restoration. This project is to do a makeover of PUKAI as part of the first stage of the restoration. This is a humongous and ambitious project to embrace for the whanau. This project won’t be without its PRO’s & CON’s, which like any other project … will be CHALLENGING.
As your acting chairman an representative for the whanau and marae komiti. The thinking is around the intent to keep whanau well appraised of the progress of the project as each day brings a new stage forward in this challenging assignment.

- Kia ora Koutou katoa. We have finally got the first part underway. We've had the presentation from the Dept of Internal Affairs "Community Development & Funding Advisor for the marae heritage funding Asher Nikora. The presentation went really well for those who attended. Each step was clearly outlined for us to follow. Asher also informed us that he participated in part of the funding application for Rangiwaea marae. Which I believe will help us in seeking clarity on some issues we may encounter. Nothing like asking another marae that’s already been through the process, especially if they're from the islands
- Now that we’ve had the presentation, I will present a schedule of stages that we as whanau will have to forefil, so that we will be able to comply with each of the steps layed out in the presentation for the restoration programme of PUKAI.
BE WATCHING THIS SPACE for more CHANGES…!!!!
