Te Kauri Marae Hikoi 2009

Possibly looking at Easter time. A hikoi to the places of where our tupuna came from and the old pa sites of Ngati Whawhakia and Kereru Tarawhiti.
This will be a opportunity to finally identify with our whakapapa and the korero in our Tauparapara and our old waiata.
Those that will benefit from this hikoi will be our Rangatahi and tamariki.
Their will be alot of planning into this hikoi and a recorded album would be beneficial to the marae and all our descendants.
Its one thing to say "we are Ngati Whawhakia" but it is another when we actually know her history and have been to where she lived and died.
Take this one and only moment to learn and understand your descendancy.
Next year in Christmas their will be a family Reunion for the Kershaw whanau that is related directly to us as descendants of Te Kauri.It would be great to attend but more knowing our whakapapa to the Kershaw whanau.
