                          MARAE CHARTER 

 Background

A.Pursuant to Section 338 (7) of the Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993 the Maori freehold land known as Parish of Pepepe Allotment 28A2C & 28A2B was set aside as a Maori Reservation for the purpose of a Marae for the use of the Ngati Whawhakia Hapu and for the Maori people generally of Te Kauri gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette No 50 page 1824 dated 14.06.1979 the reservation is more commonly known as Te Kauri Marae.

Stipulated pursuant to Section 338 (17) of the Ture Whenua Act 1993.

"All Maori Reservation set apart under the corresponding provisions of any former and subsisting at the commencement of this Act shall be deemed to be Maori Reservation made under this section"
