Te Kauri Marae is Online!!

Website Development Updates...

After weeks of organising, Rawiri Thompson and Hone Nuku Tarawhiti headed off to Naumaiplace.com offices to start working on the new Te Kauri Marae Website.

The website has been created, the front page completed, news and events entered and one photo album is partially up.  A lot more work lays ahead but we are getting there whanau.

Today we worked hard at brainstorming what to utilise this site for.  A lot of ideas came out:

• Marae Upgrades
• Whanau sport teams
• Leon Wharekura
• Te Kauri Kohanga Reo
• Papatoa Logging contract
• Training opportunities
• Marae History
• Whanau History
• Marae Committee members
• Military acknowledgements

We are working steadily on each of these ideas, fleshing them out more and several pages were uploaded at the end of the session.  It was really evident though - we would need more information.  If you can help in this - please contact us.

SEPTEMBER 2008 UPDATES

Always a work in progress.  During this month, we worked on:

• Updated Project Wharekai
• UPdate Mihimihi
• Added "How Do I?" Page
• Added "Maori Land Court Land Shares" Page
• Updated "Whanau Memories"
• Added "Whanau Links" Page
• Added "1920's" photo album (special thanks to Rangi Parker who originally gave these taonga to the Marae)

Many more still in progress!  Months' not over yet!
