Kiaora Whanau
I was recently in Wellington at the Head office of Maori Trustee making enquiries on behalf of Annie Dick Tarawhiti, this kuia is the younger sister of Piri Te Kamo Tarawhiti, I was informed that other people outside of our Whanau, Hapu and Marae were applying for unclaimed rents owned by this Kuia Annie, I was quick to inform MTO that we have whakapapa and know people that could whakapapa to our kuia and that the people applying are not known to our whanau, hapu or Marae. Therefore whanau I alerted the Maori Land Court as well so that they could investigate these other people that have a similar name like ours but belong to another whanau, hapu and iwi such as Ngati Maniapoto. Our whanau have issued a warning to people like this if you are not of our bloodlines such as the Tarawhiti whanau from Ngati Whawhakia,Waikato, then "leave what is not yours alone "
