Taumata o te Ra Website
Wow,this is soo cool, I am showing it off to my collegues here in Lebanon. I am reading like I have never read before, my heart is singing that I have this contact with my whanau and I can hear your news!
Merry Xmas take care!
Thank you, to those who had the forsight and energy to do this
First impressions of website
Over the years I have had very limited exposure to our marae and its teachings. But I do remember being shown thru with Uncle Wattie explaining the meaning of the kowhaiwhai panels. Is there any chance that more information about the overall reason for the buildings design and the story of each panel could be explained in further detail? And photos of each incorporated. Or even if it could be a video file moving slowly over a panel with a narrator effect? Just an idea.
Fantastic website though and for someone who has almost no recollection of maori language I appreciate the translations that appear as you float over portions particularly as I live overseas and don't have exposure to the language.
Thank you, Michele
Kia Ora Whanau,
I am newly registered on the Taumata O Te Ra website and am so happy to see the Kaumatua gallery, it is interesting to see names of aunties and uncles Iv never heard of Then for my dad to correct me of who is who by the names we called them. I would like the wedding photo of gran and grandad (Bill & Evelyn Kereama) added to the gallery as they were the heart and soul of our family, I am going to scan the picture to my computer this week and then will forward it to you.
Awsome website guys, Learned so very much.
