What's On in Ngati Hine
Te Runanga o Ngati Hine has developed a totally new constitution and governance structure for the future. What does this mean for you? What does it mean for your whanau, your marae and for Ngati Hine? Who will represent your interests and how? How will the Executive of the Runanga be elected and what powers will they have? How will checks and balances be put in place? A series of hui are being held to inform Ngati Hine of this constitutional change and to seek feedback from the people. If you have questions or points of discussion then these hui will provide you with a good opportunity to do so. A presentation delivered by Waihoroi Shortland will also provide an overview of the Runanga’s registration process. The first hui will be held at the Motatau Marae this Sunday 10th of May starting at midday. Other hui on our Ngati Hine marae will be advertised in the newspapers, radio etc. Please come along and hear this important korero that relates to you. ‘Ko te iwi te Runanga, ko te Runanga te iwi’
