Do, we always hear our tamariki’s plea for help or just to be heard?  Our tamariki don’t have a voice in our community and this has also become apparent at Mangakahia Area School.  The standard of applicants for Principal for Te Horo School was of the highest caliber.  However the BOT, LSM and Staff Representative are unanimously certain in their final deliberation.  ‘Here’s to a prosperous start to the future of our most treasured assets, our tamariki.’      Doctor Reti’s father is offering to come to Pipiwai to run a ‘Tai Chi’ class.  If he could get 20 willing participants, this course is ‘ACC’ (Accident Compensation Commission) funded.  The purpose for ‘Tai Chi’ is to keep our weary bodies supple.  (The ‘Hoiho’ is looking like the order of the day)                                    Te Komiti Wahine o Tau Henare is pleased to inform the community that the money you all endeavoured to raise is being implemented to purchase your first installment of utensils urgently required for Tau Henare Marae;Stainless/steel cutlery, stainless/steel water jugs, s/steel bowls for food preparation, and white stackable teacups.  This is a start of better things to come.  Te Komiti Wahine o Tau Henare, wish to convey our heartfelt thanks for the full community support.  Noho ora mai!  The Harrison crew and interested whanau are ‘hardout’ training for the twilight trophy’s first challenge on Wednesday, 1 April at 6pm, Touch Rugby.  Female participants are always welcomed, ‘cmon girls RULE.’ The above may be deferred to another date, due to the death of a whanaunga being return to Tau Henare.  Will keep you updated, your contact; Jacko. Good one guy’s.  JB’s had their sign up day and there were new faces but also the same moans about the tough training this coming season. It seems Pipiwai will be fielding strong junior rugby teams again.  Waimarie played Dargaville in a pre-season game on Saturday, Waimarie winning 48-20 at Waimarie’s field.  Our own Joseph, came away from the game with his jaw broken in three places.First competition game v’s Tomarata 11 April, 2pmSecond game v’s Dargaville Old Boys at Dargaville 18 April, 2pm  Last week Te Horo hosted THMPPP Day, where school children participated in teamwork and problem solving exercises. In short the teams were given tasks which required serious thinking and working together to complete and some of them were funny to watch. There were no winners, just children who had a great time and learned some valuable lessons.  Although our children were grouped with children from the other schools, they were awesome as hosts, pointing visitors to the closest toilet and refreshment spots as they were asked to do by their teachers. The parents who were fortunate to be there spoke highly of the day and of the school grounds that were well prepared for the occasion, especially the feature gardens dotted around the grounds.   THMPPP stands for, Te Horo, Mangakahia, Purua, Pakotai, Poroti the names of the participating schools. A big acknowledgement to all who helped make the day successful. It was nice to see Crete and his team back at the school giving up their valuable time to give our tamariki sporting tasks and exercises and it was a pleasure actually seeing them fully enjoying themselves.
