PIPIWAI YAKA
5TH FEBUARY 2012
Firstly if you haven’t been on Face book yet there are some new photos in there, under the Tau Henare wharekai site so log in and enjoy. There is much ado about when the rebuild will finish but early April is the favorite date and that isn't too far away. The trusses have been put on and what an awesome sight especially with the concrete floor laid yesterday. The biggest buzz has been the participation of our community, beginning from the kaumatua such as Freeman Paul and Poata Nathan who have been a great help even though both don’t realise their value. Porena, Albie, Chris and Bilo have all been giving our youth encouragement to be part of an awesome project for Pipiwai. Lastly the workers have been more than well fed by Rongomau and her two young helpers every day since the new build began in December.
For this writer it is indescribable to say the least.

The DIY group laid concrete for the pathways Sat 4th Feb and although there were enough people to lay the paths everyone had been encouraged to come down to the marae and see for themselves the goings on that are happening to Tau Henare Marae, and they did by the droves with kai in hand for the kaimahi and whanau with heaps of leftovers.

On Wednesday 15th Feb Hauora will be at the complex for their usual clinic and again all are welcome to come down from 10.00am onwards for health checkups but a very important meeting at 6pm on the same day, Raising Awareness of Prostate Cancer has been arranged so that we may find out things about the disease . Please find it within you to attend, men and women together.

Once again the Pipiwai Yaka would like to bring notice to 2 businessmen in Kamo who are good for us in Pipiwai and our whanau who live locally and they are Des Imms who own the tyre place in Wakelin Street across from Shell petrol station and Morri who is at Northend Automotives. Both these guys are willing to help you get the best deal possible so if you have car or tyre trouble talk to them they may be able to help you. This is not a paid advert just letting you know that you can save money and get reliable service also, but if you know of good deals let us know and we will pass it on.
