  Ko Rangiwewehi te Iwi

 Tena Koutou te whānau o Ngāti Rangiwewehi;

It is important that we ngā Uri maha (the many descendants), of our ancestor Rangiwewehi especially those who are isolated from our kainga tipu (ancestral homeland), can contribute to the development and growth of our Whanau, our hapū, our iwi, our marae, our whenua, and each other.  One way we can do this is by registering to our Iwi Authority; Te Maru o Ngāti Rangiwewehi.

In September 2008 representatives of Te Maru o Ngāti Rangiwewehi Iwi Authority submitted its Deed of Mandate to the Crown for the comprehensive settlement of all of the historical claims of Ngāti Rangiwewehi.

Te Maru o Ngāti Rangiwewehi held four (4) mandate information hui in Rotorua, Maketu and Te Puke between 20 July and 12 August 2008.  All eligible voters who attended voted in favour of the Iwi Authority representing Ngāti Rangiwewehi in settlement negotiations with the Crown.

It is therefore it is even more important for every person who can affiliate to and/or is descended from the eponymous ancestor, Rangiwewehi and his descendants to register with Te Maru o Ngāti Rangiwewehi.  Currently the Department of Statistics show that 2349 people indicated they were affiliated to Ngāti Rangiwewehi but we’re sure there are more people from Rangiwewehi than that whanau.

So support your iwi by  registering with Te Maru o Ngāti Rangiwewehi by either of the following;
