Today (Monday 5tth July 2010) saw the dedication of the new whare on our marae.

At the request of our koeke, a small intimate ceremony opening the new "Whare Manaaki" was appropriately lead by Uncle George Bennett. 

Awatea Rikirangi-Thomas was called upon to perform the duties of our 'puhi' for the event and crossed the threshold to the building thereby restoring the balance of any restrictions that may have been in place during the construction of the new whare.

Our ceremony was appropriately concluded with mihimihi and kai.
