Hi Everyone, this is the count down. 1st march.
Two things add your name in red and return to Ahuriri. Second, check your whanau have made their $3000 per family and you have done your bit. Encourage everyone to try and lets work together as a hapu. As Ahuriri has said, every bit counts big and small.
a catch up: The DIY Rarotonga dinner was a huge success, Rongo shared Teaka's story, Rocky for the Deans, and Diane had a beautiful presentation of the Ataera whanau and her Dads story. Kauia reminded everyone of the blessing we have as people who live in this community. The important message was(for me) the fact that if we all do one thing to make living here a better place we are making a contribution to the world. As we had the international group and they shared their blessings with us. Sonny King and his friend sang in the corner and people danced and enjoyed meeting up again. Lots of the pakeha community were present.
The overall clean up has begun with the trees coming down, already the light and sunshine is streaming in.
Tamateaarikinui had their dress rehearsal Saturday with a crowd of 100 odd people, Maori, pakeha, young old watching on and from all reports the performance was stunning. While all that was going on we had a wedding, a babys christerning, and football and rugby with Pongaroa happening. Busy place eh!!!
