Parawai Marae
5kms North from Rotorua towards Hamilton and Auckland is a township on the sunny side of the mountain called Ngongotaha. If you turn right at the roundabout to Ngongotaha town centre and right again on Taui Street just over the railway line on your right is Parawai Marae.
Marae Complex
The Marae is Smokefree (Auahi Kore) and has been since 2005 but alcohol is permitted whilst food is being served. All hirers are expected to leave the Marae clean at the completion of your Hui. The complex includes shower facilities. The dining room seats 200 comfortably. The kitchen is limited in the way of cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils.

This Tupuna Whare is named Te Whatumairangi who was a child of Tutanekai and Hinemoa. The dining room is named Parehina.
Marae Protocols
The Kawa of the Marae is Te Arawa.
Marae Komiti Meetings
The Marae Komiti meet bi-monthly on the first Sunday of the month to ensure payment of all accounts and to ensure all maintenance is duly undertaken.
The elected persons are:

All whanau are welcome to attend meetings on an informal basis and all adult members have voting rights.

Acknowledgements
The Marae Komiti acknowledges the support of the local community and especially the hapū from Tarimano, Ngararanui and Tarukenga Marae. The Komiti also acknowledges all previous Marae trustees and at the same time welcomes the new Trustees who will be taking on their role from June 10th 2008. Ngā mihi manahau ki a kōutou katoa.
