Kia ora koutou,
I am putting together a booklet of photos and stories of the hall (more lately referred to as the marae) and offer you all the opportunity to include some of your memories and experiences in it. Once complete, copies of the booklet will each be sold with a CD set, with the proceeds going to the marae. These taonga shall undoubtedly serve as a momento for our future generations.
What was it like for you at the hall /marae? How does /did it make you feel when you come /came there and who or what sticks in your mind? You may have some gems to share...like the one about the little boy who put his head down the old long drop, or you dodged a whack from an uncle's tokotoko while sneaking into the dining room, or maybe while sitting by the fire in the kauta you saw your made-to-fit tarling for the very first time?
Whanau; if you would like to include your photo(s), drawings or stories in the booklet, please email or get them to me by Saturday 5th December. For the stories, try and keep them to a maximum of 250 words so we can fit everyone's contributions in.
