Maniapoto’s Position
Conditional support in principle for Waikato River Claim
Conditions – Maniapoto retains absolute rights, authority and mana to its waters, banks and beds (and all minerals under them), and its streams, waterways, tributaries, lakes, aquatic fisheries, vegetation and floodplains, as well as its metaphysical being in the Maniapoto rohe. (Hui-a-Iwi Sept 06)
Position endorsed again in Dec 07 (MMTB AGM), Feb 08 (WRC hui-a-iwi) and Jun 08 (Hui-a-Iwi)

To establish a co management framework that will implement this vision
